> Curaçao mobile guide: Digicel Paradise eSIMs with cover across Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, Flow's Chippie bundles, the Digital Immigration Card and emergency numbers.

Curaçao has two mobile networks, Digicel and Flow, whose prepaid brand on the island is Chippie. Digicel publishes three Tourist eSIM plans in US dollars that also work on Aruba and Bonaire, which suits a multi-island trip. Flow publishes data bundles priced in guilders, and its pages we opened do not describe a separate tourist SIM. Before you pack, every visitor has an online Digital Immigration Card to complete. This guide compares what each operator states and adds the entry and emergency details from the Curaçao Tourist Board and the UK Foreign Office.

## Complete the Digital Immigration Card first

The Curaçao Tourist Board says the Digital Immigration Card, the DI Card, is a mandatory form for all visitors to clear immigration, and that it can only be filled out online, at dicardcuracao.com. Its FAQ says the card is required per person and per trip, including for children, with parents or guardians giving their own email address for the children travelling with them, and that each passenger in a group needs their own. The passport entered on the form must match the passport you travel with, and the card can be completed up to one hour before arrival. On arrival you must be able to show the submitted form digitally or as a printout.

The FAQ says the card does not guarantee admission, since the immigration officer makes the final decision, and it gives dicardsupport@curacao.com for questions. Use that address rather than an unofficial site that offers to complete the card for you. Save the confirmation PDF and the email before leaving home so you can open it without a data connection at Hato airport.

## Digicel's Paradise eSIMs and the three-island reach

Digicel Curaçao lists three Tourist eSIMs priced in US dollars, with an amount in guilders (XCG) alongside. At the time of checking, the 3 Days in Paradise plan cost US$20 for 5 GB and 15 minutes to other networks, the 7 Days plan cost US$30 for 7 GB and 30 minutes, and the 14 Days plan cost US$50 for 20 GB and 60 minutes. The page lists roaming in Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao with each plan and says the plan includes endless Digicel minutes and SMS.

Digicel says all Tourist SIMs automatically expire after one month of being active unless a top-up is bought, and that the initial plan cannot be renewed, although LTE plans can be bought while the SIM remains active. The page also points to a physical Tourist SIM in its store. Digicel's general eSIM FAQ says an eSIM profile works on only one device at a time, that a Digicel eSIM works only if the phone is unlocked or locked to Digicel, and that recovering a deleted eSIM means visiting a Digicel store. It lists iPhone 11 to 13 models, some iPads, Samsung Galaxy S20 to S22 models and some Pixel phones as compatible.

## Flow's Chippie bundles

Flow's Chippie prepaid data page lists Smart Surf bundles. At the time of checking, 250 MB for one day cost ANG 4.00, 800 MB for three days cost ANG 10.00, 1.5 GB for seven days cost ANG 16.00, and 30-day bundles were 1 GB for ANG 35.00 or 4 GB for ANG 59.00. Pay-as-you-go data was ANG 0.69 per MB, switched on by sending SURF ON to 3434. Flow adds that bundles roll over if reactivated within 24 hours and that there are no extra costs when a quota is used up.

Compare the units before choosing. Flow's page is in ANG while Digicel's lists a guilder amount marked XCG, so check which currency your card statement will show. The pages we opened for Flow do not describe a tourist-specific SIM, ID rules or airport kiosks, so we do not state them.

## Coverage, 5G and airport counters: not confirmed

Operator pages we opened claim LTE service, with Flow calling its service the only LTE service offered in Curaçao, but give no coverage map or percentages for Curaçao, and we found no regulator report. Searches for airport counters at Hato returned only unofficial visitor guides, so we do not state where or when a SIM can be bought on arrival. A reasonable plan is to buy an eSIM before departure, then use airport Wi-Fi if needed to complete setup.

Because Digicel's plans work across Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, a visitor island-hopping within the group can keep one profile. Check the fine print for each island before relying on it.

## Emergency numbers

The UK Foreign Office lists 912 for an ambulance, 911 for fire and police and 913 for the coastguard in Curaçao. Our Curaçao plan page covers data before you arrive.

## Using a Curaçao eSIM with your home line

Apple's guidance says an iPhone must be unlocked to use a travel eSIM, that you need a connection to install it, and that you choose the data line in Settings, Cellular. Google says Pixel 3a and later phones can hold one physical SIM and one eSIM. Samsung says eSIMs are added in SIM manager. Our Curaçao plan page is an alternative for data bought before departure.

Emergency calls: Many travel eSIMs carry data only, and a data-only profile may not place a normal phone call. Keep a voice-capable SIM for emergencies, such as your home SIM or a local plan, and save the local emergency number from this guide.
