# St. Kitts & Nevis travel eSIM guide

> St Kitts and Nevis mobile guide: the mandatory eTA and online immigration form on your phone, Digicel's prepaid Ultra plans, an eSIM page we could not rely on, and 911, 333 and the coastguard.

St Kitts and Nevis asks every visitor to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation before travel, through an official portal and mobile app, and to complete an online immigration and customs form, which can be filled in on arrival using a personal device with a data connection or the free public Wi-Fi. That makes a working phone part of the entry process. Digicel publishes prepaid plans in Eastern Caribbean dollars, but its eSIM page for the islands contains text about Jamaica and a zero-dollar plan, so we do not rely on it. This guide reads the official portal, Digicel's prepaid page and the UK Foreign Office.

## The eTA and the online immigration form, done on your phone

The UK Foreign Office says all visitors to St Kitts and Nevis must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation before travel, which can be applied for online or through the official mobile app, and that UK visitors can stay up to six months without a visa. The official Electronic Border Management System site describes itself as the portal for the online Immigration and Customs ED Form and the eTA, with a section to check the status of an existing application and a mobile app to download.

The Foreign Office says to complete the immigration form online before you travel to speed up arrival, and that you can also complete it on arrival using your personal device with a data connection or the free public Wi-Fi. For arrivals by sea, you must fill in the form and contact the relevant ports authority, Nevis or St Christopher, at least 24 hours before arriving. Keep your confirmations on your phone and charged, since airport staff can check the status of a submission.

## Digicel's Prime and Ultra prepaid plans

Digicel's prepaid page for St Kitts and Nevis lists Prime and Ultra plans in Eastern Caribbean dollars, tax included. At the time of checking, a 1-day Prime Premier plan cost XCD 10.00 for 4 GB with unlimited local calls and unlimited Digicel SMS, a 3-day Ultra plan cost XCD 15.00 for 6 GB, a 7-day Ultra plan cost XCD 30.00 for 15 GB with 50 regional and international minutes, a 14-day Ultra plan cost XCD 75.00 for 40 GB and a 30-day Ultra plan cost XCD 125.00 for 75 GB with 300 regional and international minutes.

The page also lists lower-cost Prime plans, for example 2 GB for XCD 5.00 for one day and 10 GB with 7 GB of entertainment data for XCD 25.00 over seven days, and Roam Easy plans that work across a list of Digicel territories. It does not say what a visitor must show to buy a SIM, and its switching steps refer to a competitor SIM and a government ID, so ask in a store.

## Why we do not rely on the Digicel eSIM page

Digicel's eSIM page for St Kitts and Nevis opens with a line about visiting St Kitts, but its browser title and body mention Jamaica, a plan priced at XCD 0.00 and a SIM-to-Go product described as being for arrivals in Jamaica. That looks like template content, so we cannot say that an eSIM for St Kitts and Nevis is sold, what it costs or what it includes.

The practical advice is to contact Digicel before you travel, or to use a foreign eSIM that explicitly lists St Kitts and Nevis, and to keep your phone's own roaming settings in mind. We found no regulator coverage map or statement in the pages we read.

## Camouflage, drugs and the temporary driving licence

The UK Foreign Office says it is illegal for anyone, including children, to wear camouflage clothing, with a possible fine of 250 East Caribbean dollars and three months in prison. It says drug offences carry severe penalties, up to 400,000 East Caribbean dollars or three times the street value and up to 10 years in the magistrates' court, and minimum sentences of 15 years if a case reaches the High Court.

To drive you must buy a temporary licence from the Inland Revenue Department, valid for three months at 62.50 East Caribbean dollars or one year at 125, and a hire company will usually help. You will need your UK licence and passport. It also advises licensed taxis only, and avoiding isolated areas, including beaches, after dark.

## Mount Liamuiga and hurricane season

The UK Foreign Office says Mount Liamuiga is a potentially active volcano that is likely to erupt in the future, and that the UWI Seismic Research Centre monitors volcanic activity on St Kitts and Nevis. It says the hurricane season runs from June to November, to monitor the US National Hurricane Center and follow evacuation orders, and that during hot, dry spells a single spark can start a wildfire, with up to 10 years in prison for starting one.

For a visitor, that means enabling official alerts on your phone and saving the contacts of your accommodation. We found no official statement about network resilience after storms.

## Emergency numbers, including the coastguard

The UK Foreign Office gives 911 for an ambulance and for police, 333 for fire and 465 8484 or 466 9280 for the coastguard in St Kitts and Nevis. Save them before you travel, particularly if you will be on the water. Our Saint Kitts and Nevis plan page covers data before you arrive.

Emergency calls: Many travel eSIMs carry data only, and a data-only profile may not place a normal phone call. Keep a voice-capable SIM for emergencies, such as your home SIM or a local plan, and save the local emergency number from this guide.
