Docomo Pacific's Visitor SIM + WiFi Kit
Docomo Pacific's visitor page describes a Worry-free 7-Day Plan at $25 with 7 GB of 4G LTE data, unlimited local calls and SMS, long-distance calls of up to 15 minutes to the US, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China and Russia, and WiFi connection to hotspots around the island. The steps are to insert the SIM, text 7 to 8687 to activate it, with minutes, SMS and data valid for 7 days after activation. To use the WiFi hotspots, connect to the Docomo Pacific WiFi network, wait for the browser portal, choose the prepaid card icon and enter the PIN printed on the card.
The visiting-Guam page adds that for longer stays there are SIM-only deals, with prepaid cards at $5, $15 and $20 from retail stores, and gives contact numbers for Guam, +1 671 688 2273, and for CNMI. It offers a request-for-contact form. The page does not give hours for airport sales, so confirm where a physical kit can be collected on arrival.
Flex prepaid plans, and the pay-as-you-go rates to avoid
Docomo Pacific's prepaid page lists Flex plans with unlimited data, local talk and text and unlimited US talk and text: Flex 1 at $2.50 for one day, Flex 3 at $6.50 for 3 days, Flex 7 at $15 for 7 days and Flex 15 at $30 for 15 days. The Flex 1 broadband label says the price is not an introductory rate, that a SIM kit fee is as low as $5, that an E911 charge of $1.00 a month applies and that the plan includes 3 GB of high-speed data per day, then unlimited at 1 Mbps. Typical download speeds are stated as 5 to 120 Mbps.
The same page lists plain prepaid rates of $0.20 per minute for local calls, $0.04 per outgoing local SMS and $0.10 per MB for mobile data. At $0.10 per MB, a single gigabyte would cost about $100, so register for a Flex plan by texting PLANS to 8080 from the prepaid device rather than leaving the line on pay-as-you-go.
Coverage across the Marianas
Docomo Pacific's coverage page, marked as of 10 June 2025, offers a map with tabs for Guam, Saipan, Rota and Tinian and layers for 3G, 4G and 5G, with legend categories for good coverage, limited coverage and experiencing coverage issues. The map is the operator's own, and the page also lets customers report coverage problems by location.
The company's separate 5G page lists named 5G locations in Tamuning and Hagåtña on Guam and Garapan on Saipan and describes them as exclusive locations at the time, so it looks like an early rollout page; use the current coverage map instead. We found no regulator coverage survey for Guam, so the best test is the map for your hotel and drive.
GTA: eSIM for its own customers
GTA's eSIM page says an eSIM lets you activate GTA wireless service without a physical SIM, lists iPhone XR and later, recent Samsung Galaxy S, Z Flip and Z Fold and Google Pixel 3 and later as compatible, and says existing customers should visit a retail location or call 671 644 4482 to switch. GTA's roaming page describes 5 GB of free monthly roaming data in the US, Japan, the Philippines and South Korea for Live Unlimited customers, which is an outbound product.
Neither page describes a visitor SIM or eSIM for people arriving in Guam, so we make no claim about GTA's offer to visitors. If you want to hold the home line and add a local profile, Docomo Pacific's visitor kit is the product we could confirm.
The Guam-CNMI visa waiver and device inspections
The Department of Homeland Security says the Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program lets nationals of listed countries visit Guam or the Northern Marianas as visitors for business or pleasure for no more than 45 days. It requires a non-refundable, non-transferable round-trip ticket with a confirmed departure within 45 days, a completed and signed Form I-736, a completed I-94 record and a valid machine-readable passport. This is separate from the ESTA programme for the rest of the United States.
The UK Foreign Office, writing about entry to the United States, says officials may ask to inspect your electronic devices, emails, text messages and social media activity and that refusal can delay or deny entry. Guam is US territory, so treat that as relevant. Before flying, back up your phone and consider what you carry on it.
Emergency number and keeping your own SIM
The UK Foreign Office gives 911 for ambulance, fire and police in the United States, and Docomo Pacific's prepaid label itself lists an E911 charge, which refers to the emergency-calling service on its lines.
Apple says an iPhone must be unlocked to use a local carrier's eSIM and that you pick the data line in Settings, Cellular. Google says Pixel 3a and later phones can combine a physical SIM and an eSIM. Samsung describes SIM manager. Our Guam plan page offers data before you land.
